Before the start of broadcasting in DATV, the special interview, "magnae" Kim Hyung Jun! I had talked about this drama!!

This is your first starring drama. How was this? 

KHJ: It was my debut, also the first starring drama to me. I wondered. Also I felt good. I have wanted acting since before. I wished acting in parallel to singer activity from before singer debut. So it was my "dream". But when I actually carried out, my avarice became more. I would like to become more well. 

Kang Min is a character who is very individualistic and selfish idol. Actually is there similar point with Mr. Hyung Jun? Also different point all?

KHJ: I think it is not similar that Kan Min is arrogant... My character is not cheeky. (laugh) If it says in similar points, the portion that I have a strong preference for work etc? I don’t say “. I do not want to do only this!” But I am a type that I cannot give up about something I want to complete, I want, I must do. These are similar points with Kan Min. Also it is the point that I do straight without being shy to a favorite girl?

What is having tried hard in order to play Kang Min completely?

KHJ: I was careful about wording. Also I referred to that similar character that other actors performed. "The Greatest Love" Mr. Cha Seung-Won, the old movie "Our Sunny Days" Mr. Cha Seung-Won and Mr. Lee Jeong-jae starred. I referred to these.

Please tell me about the most favorite scene and words.

KHJ: "I am a superstar Kan Min" These words remained in my memory truly! It is interesting. And a kiss scene with this heroine Ji Hyun. It was filmed in the town in Cheongdam-dong. Also near a famous entertainments office. So close! We were going to kiss with shifting lips at first. But Miss So Yi Hyun (the role Ji Hyun)taught me, "We will do perfectly! Kiss is such" (laugh) The scene fighting on the roof and the scene competing with Yong Woo in a parking are impressive. Somehow, the scene which quarrels remains in my memory. 

The heroine Ji Hyun resigns from a company and becomes the broadcast writer who was a dream. Mr. Hyung Jun. Is there the work that you want to do with except for an entertainer? And what was your dream when you were child?

KHJ: President! My blood type is Type O. I heard Type O has leadership. I feel myself becoming such stronger and stronger in the middle of 20 age generation. After this drama,I feel myself became further so. It is often said. "affected by　the role of a drama." I had not believed but. 
Therefore, I would like to do work which leads and takes other people. 
Although the President may be exaggerated, I would like to become a social leader. 
I'm the head of a soccer team now. I made. As for me, moving under someone's like Chess pieces is disagreeable. If it is so, I thought that it is better receiving myself to a leader. I had changed to such before I knew it. When I was a child, I was completely different. The elder sister and the maternal grandma often took care of me. I was a child who likes taking it easy peacefully. So I might have changed possibly by actor debut. 

Ji Hyun who is a stylish career woman, Kkot Nim who is feminine and lovely appear in this drama. Which is your type?

KHJ: I like Ji Hyun type. She is cheerful, active, does the best for her work, and says something to want to say. I like such points. A talkative woman is not my type. So I think it is good not talkative little like Kkot Nim. But those who hide real intention in a breast are disagreeable. Those who can say something to want to say. Those who can say what have to say. Such woman is good.

Do you think what kind of woman is "Sunshine Girl" for Mr. Hyung Jun?

KHJ: Although a concrete person does not come to mind... Those who wear bright dress first of all? I may have not thought until now. I wish I had such woman who comes to mind!

Kang Min and Young Woo are a rival. Mr. Hyung Jun. Do you blaze more when there is the rival in work or love?

KHJ: In love, a rival is unnecessary. First, a woman who comes and goes between two or more men, is disagreeable! I don’t want to also carry out such love. However, I can do my best when I have a rival in work or sport. I can think I must do my best more.

Please tell me the role or genre you want to play in the future.

KHJ: After returns from an army some day, when age is piled up, I want to play a love drama which is not a love comedy. If it is my age　now, I think that a love comedy is good. However, I have already experienced. It faces each other earnestly, fights and sheds tears... I want to play the tale of full-scale love. And I want to play in a movie. It is a target to buy a ticket in a movie theater and to go to see myself. Also I want to play an action drama like "IRIS". Directors say, "such a tale suits you". (romantic comedy etc) Whenever they say so, my unyielding character appears. So I think I want to challenge action etc. I want to play a role that my surrounding person says "It does not suit you", than it always appears in the work of the same genre.

If you come to Japan, are there certainly doing, a thing to eat, a place which goes etc?

KHJ: I eat ramen noodles. Arrives in Japan, I eat immediately after performing formalities for entry. Ramen! The first meal certainly. And Roppongi. There are many people and it is interesting. I think that it is like Itaewon of Korea. It is pleasant to carry out people-watching.

K-pop group SS501 member Heo Young-saeng will release his new record next month and join the army the following month.

The artist is currently readying to release his new solo album in October and will be having a concert in Seoul late October before he enters army in November, an official with Heo’s agency B2M Entertainment told TenAsia on Wedesday.

However, the exact enlist date and recruit training center to serve his mandatory 21-month military service have not been confirmed yet.

The concert is scheduled to be held at the UNIQLO-AX Hall on October 26, but the B2M official explained that there still is a chance to change the venue.

Debuted in 2005 as member of Korean boy group SS501, the 28-year-old artist made his solo debut with “Let It Go” in 2011.

The singer has released his third mini-album, also the latest record, ”LIFE” this March.

According to a September 25 announcement by his agency, A Plus Entertainment, Kim Hyung Jun, actor and singer, has been cast in a lead role in KBS’s new drama series Love Goes with a Song, and Sistar’s Dasom will be his colead.

The drama series is about three families who regret having hurt others and have come to appreciate the value of family. Kim will play the role of Tae Gyung, who is producer and CEO of a theater and is the ideal type of thoughtful, gentle man but a perfectionist in his work. Kim played Mong Gyu in the MBC drama series Gold Apprear!, which ended recently. Love Goes with a Song will begin airing in November.


The movie An Actor Is An Actor, in which Kim stars, has officially been invited in the Panorama Division of the 2013 Busan International Film Festival, and there he will walk on the red carpet for the first time as an actor.

Fans waiting eagerly for Kim Hyun Joong’s return to the small screen will have to wait a little longer. Instead of airing in November, his new drama “Inspiring Generation” will now be shown early in 2014.

His upcoming drama has been replaced by Jang Geun Suk’s new drama “Pretty Boy.”

It’s not a question of preference, say the producers. It’s just that “Inspiring Generation” has proven to be a more complicated drama to film.

As “Inspiring Generation” is a story set in 1930s Shanghai, the shooting schedule is dependent on the cooperation of the Chinese government and they have delayed permits for filming due to the Chinese mid-autumn festival.

Singer cum actor Kim HyungJun who appears in MBC weekend drama ‘Gold!Appear’, is very serious about his attitude about acting as well as the determination as an actor and on the other hand, he harbours the passion in his heart as a singer. Appearing in MBC ‘Golden Fishery – Radio Star’, shows his surprising comic attractiveness, his warm tears when talking about the death of his puppy, and surprisingly an innocent young guy who fell into sorrow when he saw fans feeling unwell. And he is a member of SS501, who promised that they will return again as a group.

- Your body definitely feels healthier than before.

“I exercise a lot. When I was skinny back then, I was 52kg. I’m now 70kg. I will lose about 5 or 6 kg when I release an album.”

- You seem to be well-liked by sunbae (senior) actors, are you usually good with elder people?

“Not good. I am more of the awkward type (with elders). Initially I only greeted them with a bow, but because I have a cheerful character, aegyo comes out but not really aegyo (*not aegyo that he does but something that others view as aegyo). Fortunately, sunbaenim likes it.”

- The song ‘Two of us’ that you released recently. It is duet with Sunny Hill’s Kota. Song is good. Why don’t you have promotional activities for it?

“I don’t have plans to do activities for ‘Two of us’ and actually it was first suggested by me to the company to commemorate my birthday. I (said) will work on it and let’s do it together. It came out a little late due to some circumstances, it has been a long time since I had my name on music so I wanted to do it and the music video was filmed beautifully.”

- Don’t you want to go on music program broadcast?

“I want to. These days there are so many groups coming out. It isn’t like this during our times. There is only DongBangShinGi hyungs and us two groups, so we’re loving towards each other. Looking at the recent groups, I will think ‘It must be fun’, ‘We could get closer if we use the same waiting room’. With good opportunities and good music, I want to gain recognition again.”

- Is there any plans to have activities as SS501 together?

“We talked about it with each other. We also talked about it openly during interviews that we had individually. It is nothing difficult. However there were several overlaps as a man (*probably referring to enlisting to army) when the opportunity came so we said we will do it when everyone is back. Members also meet up often. Met up and talked, and often call each other up. We temporarily stopped our activities, we never said we are disbanded. Whether people believe it or not, everything will come to light when we show you next time. Standing on the stage, having concert. Our role model Shinhwa hyungs are still here (*active, not disbanded too), that is always our target to be like them. We will do it someday, without missing any of our members. When I watch variety programs, I would think that we will be able to do it funnily.”

- Heard you’re a soccer manic, and a team captain?

“I’m the team captain for FC Avengers. I play the striker in the team. Actually, shouldn’t better players be defender or winger? Striker can be (someone) not as good. Striker seems easy but it is not, in an amateur team, the ambiguous ability should be used as the striker (laughs). Even so, I can score goals. I score 1 goal per match. A lot of fans come for the soccer match too. Seeing that fans coming rain or shine, regardless of weather conditions, I will definitely not take it for granted and be thankful to them. I thought about if I would do such a thing for someone whom I like. Thank you. For I have a place where I can be near to fans.”

- Heard that an elderly went to your birthday party cum fan meeting recently.

“She came from Japan. She wasn’t my fan initially, she came to one of my event with someone else and since then, she likes me and always comes with her walking stick. I didn’t know that she would come all the way to Korea. I am really thankful. It felt like seeing my grandmother or a family member. I wanted to do everything for her. Thinking about how difficult it must have been for her to decide to come here and how hard it is to endure the hot weather, I felt so grateful. I will be good to you for the rest of my live.”

- Is there any other fans you remember?

“There are several fans, I will get such thoughts especially when I see fans feeling unwell. Thoughts like ‘I must put in my best. I cannot break down.’ They were not feeling well and if I don’t do well, how disappointed would they get, and I worry about their health too.”

- How are your puppies?

“One of them died recently. I cried a lot. I fell into panic for one week. I can’t even work. Looking at people who raise dogs for companionship, I thought how sad would that be, I was very sad. My tears will roll when I see his photos. I went out for a drink and I cried for about an hour in front of my friend. It was my first time feeling that someone has left me.”

- You’ve requested for a song from JYP openly in ‘Radio Star’ last time.

“I contacted him few times recently, but I can’t bear to ask for a song, so I didn’t. Hyung said he saw that broadcast. ‘Really thank you’ he said. But there still isn’t any news of the song yet. I must get the song from him by this year (laughs).”

- You were really funny in ‘Radio Star’ where you appeared in.

“I didn’t know who will be appearing as guests, I also didn’t know it was a ‘ingenuous special’ episode. I think that broadcast will stay with me for the rest of my life. Now I want to appear again in ‘Radio Star’ in a ‘Gold!Appear’ Special, with the young actors/actresses in the drama!”

- It has been over 4 years as a DJ for SBS Power FM ‘Kim HyungJun’s Music High’. What is the attraction of radio?

“I like about talking about myself. Also (what I like is) people’s responses and people listening to me. Also while giving advices, I will also listen to someone else’s story. A place for communication is really precious. When I am not having other activities, I don’t have a need to meet anyone else, I can’t meet them even if I want to, I can’t talk to them even if I want to, but the advantage of radio is that I am able to share various stories.”

- It has been 8 years since you debut in 2005. When is the moment that you’re happiest?

“There are really a lot of times, but I am happiest now. I feel really great about the fact that I am doing something that I am able to do. There are a lot of people who can’t do what they wanted to, there are also many who intended to do but because of some circumstances, they can’t. Thus I am thankful that I have such an opportunity and I am thankful to myself now. And I also feel happy right now at this moment having this interview”

Kim Hyung Jun gave hope to patient fans by sharing plans for a potential SS501 reunion.

Kim Hyung Jun opened up about the special bond he has with his fellow members of SS501 and chances for a reunion in an interview. He shared, "We talk to each other. We are open about it during interviews as well. It's not difficult. But as men, time is of the essence so there are overlaps here and there. We tell each other that once we all return, we will do it all together. I meet with my members often. We meet each other more than enough and talk on the phone frequently."

"We're on a tentative hiatus but we never said that we disbanded. Whether people believe it or not, we can show them later. We want to perform on stage and hold a concert. Since our role models are Shinhwa, our goal is to last forever like them. We will reunite without any member missing. When I watch variety shows, I think to myself that we can be funny together like them."
