K-pop star Kim Hyun Joong is returning to the Japanese music market.
The singer and actor will release his fourth Japanese single “Hot Sun” on June 18.
The song was produced by Steven Lee, who also worked as producer of Kim’s first Japanese album “Unlimited” released in 2012 and his first Japanese single “KISS KISS/Lucky Guy.”
“Hot Sun” will be released in six editions along with the songs “Timing,” “B.I.N.G.O.” and “Good-Bye.”
“Timing” will feature Japanese pop group AAA member Mitsuhiro Hidaka.
“Hot Sun” will be Kim’s comeback song in Japan after last year’s “Tonight.”
To promote the song, he will hold an autograph signing and bracelet distribution events in Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka in Japan in the summer.
He will be flying to Yokohama to attend a special event for his Korean drama “Inspiring Generation” scheduled on May 31.
The drama, which according to KBS, is “about young fighters in the 1930′s glamorous Shanghai, China, who struggle between love, faith, and friendship,” aired in South Korea from January to April this year.
Kim will also hold fan meetings in Shanghai and Beijing in China in June.

Kim Hyun Joong sat down for an interview with Sports Seoul, which also happened to be on the day that Nichkhun and Tiffany went public with their relationship, making it inevitable that the veteran idol star would be asked to give his two cents on idols dating.
Kim Hyun Joong shared, "[The competition] was intense during my twenties. Ever since I started as an idol, there was no time to rest, and I wasn't able to date properly... I think the social conditions have changed a lot these days, so it feels new and different."
"I don't regret it even if it means not being able to date properly. Although it felt like an invasion of privacy at times, in order to become a singer, I was the only one selected out of 1 million people who auditioned and made my debut... I endured through it and thought that I should be happy for this very reason."
"If I were to become an idol again, I don't think I would be able to do it... In the U.S, you think of *NSYNC as artists but in our country and Japan, [the general public] does not consider idols as artists and their image is restricting."
"Idols can date too but I think at one point, we were brainwashed into thinking that idols can't date... Even if idols act, they have a disadvantage because of their idol background, and even if they buy a car, people make sarcastic remarks. I think there is that stereotype concerning idols... Although they are young, they are also human and should be acknowledged as people of this culture so it's unfortunate."
"I used to like girls who I liked [instead of the other way around], but as I did 'Generation of Youth', I thought for the first time that I can be swayed by a girl who treats me well... I felt it was nice to have a pretty girl who treats me and takes care of me well... Kim Hyun Joong talked about the rumors of him dating After School's UEE!
Back when both of them were starring on 'Barefoot Friends', a rumor had spread that the duo were actually dating. According to rumors, Kim Hyun Joong had introduced UEE to his friends as his girlfriend. Even though the rumors quieted after the show ended, it still pops up from time to time.
In an interview he had with Star Today, he was asked about the rumors. He answered, "It's not true at all. To be honest, I trusted these rumors out of instinct. But now that I became one of the subjects, I realized they're not believable. I heard through the rumors that I was dating UEE, and we laughed together when we saw it. After that, the staff kept teasing us, so I jokingly said 'she's my girlfriend', and that became the fuel for another round of rumors. It's a scary world."
He added, "We were all close during the filming, but I don't think I could ever be dating UEE like the rumors suggest."
