[News] Kim Hyun Joong Rises to Top Ranks on the Oricon Charts Again

Kim Hyun Joong has done it again, as he′s sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single album Tonight.

On the day of its release, June 5, Tonight sold 101,818 copies, making Kim Hyun Joong the foreign artist with the biggest sales on the Oricon that day.

It is the singer′s second album to sell over 100,000 copies on its first day after Heat, which was released on July 2012.

Tonight has been chasing SMAP′s 50th album on the Oricon Daily Chart, staying right behind it at no. 2.

Kim Hyun Joong has continued to promote in Japan, holding a tour in the country from January to March and attending other premium events for his fans.

He has been emerging as a strong player on the Japanese charts, as he landed in the country with Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy by breaking the record for most sales on the first day as a foreign artist since the Oricon started releasing daily charts.

His second single album Heat topped Oricon Daily Charts and Weekly Charts, and landed on the no. 3 spot for its Monthly Chart, selling over 200,000 copies in total.

His first studio album Unlimited also shot to the top of the Oricon Daily Chart.

Kim Hyun Joong next plans to land in Korea on June 8 with a fanmeeting in Seoul, his 2013 KHJ Show - Party People.
